Nominations are now open for the 2024 Livestock SA On-Farm Biosecurity Farmer of the Year award.
Nominations are now open for individuals, groups or organisations producing red meat or wool in South Australia who meet the following criteria:
- Undertakes biosecurity planning for their property/business and has a current farm biosecurity plan in place
- Applies farm biosecurity practices at their property/business to reduce the spread of pests, weeds and diseases
- Can show evidence of biosecurity activities (i.e., records, procedures etc.)
- Demonstrates a high level of understanding of animal health and welfare
- Collaborates with other producers, industry or government to improve biosecurity
The winner will be announced at the Livestock SA Industry Dinner on 7 November and will receive a prize of $1000 will be awarded.
