Who we are

Livestock SA is an industry body representing beef cattle, sheep and goat producers in South Australia.

Livestock SA is the peak industry body representing South Australia's sheep, beef cattle and goat producers.

As the voice of the state's red meat and wool producers, Livestock SA advocates for policies and programs that support a productive, profitable and sustainable livestock industry. The organisation represents more than 5,200 sheep producers, 2,700 beef cattle producers and hundreds of goat producers across South Australia.

Established in 2013, Livestock SA provides industry leadership, policy and advocacy, and manages the Sheep and Cattle Industry Funds to support investment and development across the sector.

Membership is open to South Australian livestock producers who pay industry levies under the Primary Industries Funding Schemes Act 1998 at no additional cost. Associate memberships are also available for industry stakeholders.

What We Do

Livestock SA is the voice of South Australia's livestock producers.

We represent the interests of livestock producers across South Australia and advocate for policies and initiatives that support a productive, profitable and sustainable red meat and wool industry. We work with government, industry and the community to ensure producers' views are considered in decisions affecting the sector.

Livestock production occurs on 84 per cent of South Australia's agricultural land and our members make a significant contribution to the management of the state's natural resources and agricultural landscapes.

Our vision is for a progressive and sustainable South Australian red meat and wool value chain that is connected, adaptable and positioned to capture future opportunities. Together, we work to improve the wellbeing, productivity and profitability of our livestock, people and land.
