Daniel Casement

Daniel Casement was appointed Executive Director of Rural Solutions SA in 2012.
He continues to lead the organisation’s success as it focuses on regional program delivery, and modern-day extension and knowledge transfer.
Drawing on more than 25 years working across primary industries in Australia, Daniel continues to deliver on projects and programs that support the states Growth Agenda, assists producers to recover from adverse events like drought and bushfires, drives industry and regional development outcomes..
With a strong background in working alongside regional businesses and communities, Daniel leads Rural Solutions and Regions in PIRSA towards achieving its key priorities and delivery of major programs, including the $7.5 million Red Meat and Wool Growth Program, the Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme, Climate Change Programs and the South Australian River Murray Sustainability Program (SARMS).
Rural Solutions co-delivers the Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme and other water infrastructure projects, alongside SA Water and commercial partners to make new water available for production.
Daniel leads the service in the development of a contemporary and adaptive framework for the management of pastoral lands in South Australia to reflect best regulatory practice.
Working with drought affected areas of South Australia, Daniel also leads the implementation of a range of programs to benefit regional businesses and communities.
He has been with Rural Solutions since 2001 and has fulfilled leadership roles in primary industries development and extension, agribusiness, regional development and social sciences.
Before Rural Solutions he worked in research roles with SARDI for the Australian seafood industry.
Daniel has experience in working in culturally sensitive areas through work with Indigenous communities across Australia.
He holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Applied Science.
