Why are you seeking a position on the Livestock SA Board?
I am passionate about representing the interests of traditional farming families like my own, who often lack the time and resources to engage directly with policy-making processes that significantly impact their livelihoods. I aim to bridge the gap between these hardworking individuals and the decisions that affect them, ensuring their voices and concerns are not only heard but actively addressed. My motivation is rooted in a commitment to safeguard the legacy and future of farming communities across South Australia, advocating for supportive policies and innovative solutions.
How will you represent the interests of SA’s red meat and wool producers and the broader livestock industry?
As a lifelong farming Family, my primary focus remains on the welfare and prosperity of fellow farmers. I possess first hand experience of the challenges and opportunities within the meat and wool sectors, enabling me to represent my peers authentically and effectively. My deep-rooted connections in the Eyre Peninsula and surrounding rural areas provide me with a unique perspective and access to community insights, ensuring that I can advocate for policies and initiatives that promote sustainability and profitability in our industries.
