Benefits of livestock containment the focus of 9 sticky beak days across SA
Containment feeding for livestock producers in South Australia is increasingly popular, driven by its proven benefits for productivity, profitability, environmental management and animal welfare.
Recognising the interest in adoption of this practice, a series of Sticky Beak Days will be held throughout February and March, offering attendees valuable insights from producers who have already implemented containment strategies on their own farms.
Led by industry experts Deb Scammell of Talking Livestock and Chris Scheid from Moore Australia, these events aim to provide livestock producers with practical knowledge to optimise containment feeding practices.
Livestock SA’s President Joe Keynes said, “it is a great opportunity to see and learn from other producer who have implemented a containment feeding strategy and is really helpful when designing or refining your own for your business.”
The Sticky Beak events are proudly supported by funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund, the Government of South Australia, Livestock SA, South Australian Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, and Australian Wool Innovations' Sheep Connect SA.
