The Livestock SA On-Farm Biosecurity Farmer of the Year Nominations Are Now Open!
Are you a farmer who is practicing exceptional livestock biosecurity, or do you know someone who is? Livestock SA is on the hunt to uncover and spotlight producers or businesses with excellent on-farm biosecurity through the inaugural Livestock SA On-Farm Biosecurity Farmer of the Year awards. President Joe Keynes says “as producers we know the importance of biosecurity for our livestock businesses, but there are some outstanding farmers who are implementing a high level of biosecurity in their business that should be recognised and shared” “There are producers that are going above and beyond, and we can all take inspiration from them, in order to protect our own businesses, neighbours and industry from the impacts and spread of endemic diseases or exotic diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease” Mr Keynes said. Livestock SA is calling for nominations now, and are open to individuals, groups or organisations producing red meat or wool in South Australia who meet the following criteria:
The winner will be announced at the Livestock SA Industry Dinner on the 15th of November and receive a prize of $1000 which is made possible through the Sheep and Cattle Industry Fund. Click here to put forward your nomination now
