Livestock SA Launches ‘Beyond the Paddock’ BBQ series to Strengthen Agricultural Communities
Livestock SA has launched the Beyond the Paddock BBQ series, designed to bring producers and communities together to take some time out and support each other with the challenges beyond the paddock.
In partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) and the SA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, agricultural groups and organisations across South Australia are invited to apply for $300 to host community led gatherings.
Livestock SA President, Joe Keynes said with challenging seasonal conditions affecting many producers, these BBQs provide an opportunity for farmers to connect, share knowledge, and support one another.
“Livestock SA is running this new round of BBQs to offer a relaxed setting for producers to step away from the demands of daily life and reconnect with their peers, friends and industry support services.”
“Off the back of the success of the 65 Red Meat Connects BBQs last year, we know that when communities come together, it strengthens resilience.”
“The Beyond the Paddock BBQ series are a great opportunity for producers to catch up, share experiences, and get together with mates away from the day-to-day pressures.”
“We’re really pleased to be partnering with PIRSA and the Drought Hub again to offer $300 to support organisations hosting these events, whether it’s a breakfast, lunch, or dinner.”
“This is an easy way for organisations to bring their community together during a challenging time, and we encourage interested groups to apply and make the most of this support.”
Applications are open to recognised agricultural groups and organisations across South Australia from Monday 21 October to Friday 8 November (unless funds are exhausted prior).
