Regional Representation Livestock SA receives input directly from producers through two regions – the Northern Region, covering the pastoral zone, and the Southern Region, covering the South East. Regional representatives are working to raise awareness of South Australia’s new commodity-based advocacy structure as well as encouraging producers to become members and ensuring their issues and concerns, no matter how large or small, are raised directly with the board. Northern Region Colin Greenfield Chairman Colin and his wife Jill own and operate three pastoral properties, Billa Kalina, Millers Creek and Pernatty in northern South Australia, and grazing and cropping country south of Port Pirie. The family runs about 5000 Shorthorn cattle and 15,000 Dorper sheep with their main market USDA Organic. Colin studied for an Associate Diploma in Applied Science at Longreach Pastoral College before returning home to Billa Kalina in the early 1990s. He is passionate about the pastoral industry and the local communities it supports. He has been or is currently working with the Glendambo and William Creek Gymkhana committees, Central Dog Fence Board, Kingoonya soil board, Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association and the Outback Lakes SA Producer Group.
