Providing biosecurity knowledge, skills, and tools to support on-ground action to safeguard our primary industry community.

More than ever, managing biosecurity risks is critical to running a farm business, which is why producers and industry are actively prioritising it in South Australia.

Livestock SA want to work with all members of the red meat and wool industries to help them implement strategies and sound biosecurity practices throughout the supply chain.

The South Australian Livestock Biosecurity Extension project has been made possible by the South Australian Sheep and Cattle Industry Funds.

Simple Steps to Safeguard your Biosecurity

Simple Steps to Safeguard your Biosecurity

The Simple Steps to Safeguard your Biosecurity program is designed to break down the implementation of good biosecurity management and planning into simple actions so producers feel empowered to improve their own on-farm biosecurity.

It will enable businesses to gain a comprehensive understanding of the key elements of biosecurity, form a customised, simple and compliant biosecurity plan to use for on-farm assurance programs such as Integrity Systems Company’s Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program and PIRSA’s One Biosecurity platform and access to support and resources from trusted, industry-based facilitators which can support ongoing biosecurity.

The free program is available to all SA red meat and wool producers and will be delivered by the Livestock Biosecurity Extension Officers Emily and Pene.

To find out more information or to organise a time to engage with the program, please contact the Livestock SA office on 08 8297 2299 or email Emily or Pene directly.
