The Mid North Young Guns will hold an evening session on Wednesday 26 June, with a briefing from 4:30pm, crop walk at 3:30pm (optional), for attendees to learn from experts and network with other sheep producers to talk about how you can make the most of the conditions in your sheep enterprise.
The event will be held at the Mallala Football Club, with a cost of $15 to attend. This event is family friendly (see our family friendly event policy), meals will be charged at a cost of $10 per child.
It may have started raining, but managing sheep is still going to be challenging this season, even if we do see good rainfall this year. Join the Mid North Young Guns for an after-work briefing on dealing with the dry conditions.
• Mixed farming expert Jess Crettenden on how to make the most out of your sheep and cropping system – the cost/benefit of grazing crops, when to take stock off crops and designing better mixed farming rotations.
• Four-in-forty: A quick overview on recovering from dry conditions, including the outlook for this season, financial management, weeds and pests.
• Opportunity to chat and ask questions with subject matter experts.
• Networking and shnitty dinner.
There will be a crop walk from 3:30pm for those who are keen (meeting location to be determined, attendees will be informed by email)
This project is supported by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board through funding from the NRM levy, and the GRDC.
