The next Livestock SA Southern Region Dinner Meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 August at the Lucindale Country Club, with guest speaker Tim Burvill.
Originally a winemaker, Tim Burvill now runs cattle on his properties at Lucindale and in the Adelaide Hills. He operates two beef focused restaurants in Adelaide and Melbourne with his Danish business partner, dry ageing beef to enhance its flavour and tenderness.
Tim will explain his paddock to plate approach and discuss the opportunities he sees for the Australian beef industry in the context of incresingly discerning consumer demands and complex community attitudes.
The meeting will start from 6pm with meals from 6.30pm. The formal proceedings will commence at 7pm.
At the meeting President Joe Keynes will give a Livestock SA Update with Chief Executive Officer Andrew Curtis to discuss the Dog Fence Levy.
Other topics include kangaroo harvesting and feral deer programs, updates on outcomes from the Robe meeting and a Southern Region Report from Chairman Peter Stock.
