Bill operates Lake Hamilton Station at Sheringa, near Elliston, on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula, with wife Jenny, father Bill, long-term worker Sam and three daughters. They run about 5000 Merinos, plus weaners and lambs over about 18,000 hectares, including 7000ha of native vegetation. The focus is on wool production and excess stock are fattened at a block at Lock and then sold. They also crop about 300 hectares to wheat and oats. Bill is passionate about ensuring the voices of Eyre Peninsula farmers are heard in management and policy development in Livestock SA and believes the new look agro-political structure in SA is long overdue and the way forward for the industry.
